Foundation Repair

How soon should I repair a crack in my foundation?

It is highly critical to repair foundation issues the moment they are identified. Underlying causes such as soil erosion, hydrostatic pressure, and frost heaves will inevitably lead to exponential structural failure and massive repair costs if left unaddressed.

Can a leaking crack in my basement wall be permanently fixed?

Yes. Cracks in foundation walls can be permanently repaired without always requiring disruptive exterior excavation. We utilize state-of-the-art polyurethane and epoxy injection technologies to aggressively weld the concrete back together and simultaneously block groundwater.

What causes my foundation to crack and bow?

Foundation stress stems from environmental forces, primarily poor soil grading, severe freeze-thaw cycles, high hydrostatic pressure (water weight against the walls), soil shrinkage during droughts, and localized excavation errors.

Crawl Space Encapsulation

How do I permanently get rid of the moisture in my crawlspace?

Persistent moisture in a crawlspace is typically driven by evaporating groundwater from exposed soil and porous concrete blocks. An elite crawlspace encapsulation utilizes a heavy-duty, sealed poly vapor barrier system across the floor and up the foundation walls to aggressively block humidity. In homes with severe moisture tables, a commercial-grade dehumidifier and Interior Drain Tile System may also be securely incorporated.

Does my crawlspace actually need insulation?

Absolutely. If your crawlspace has a conditioned living space directly above it, it must be properly insulated to prevent thermal transfer. Because of our deep roots working with *Brian’s Insulation*, we frequently utilize Rigid Foam and CertiStud installations rather than vulnerable fiberglass batts that easily absorb moisture and drop over time.

How long does a full crawlspace encapsulation process take?

Depending on the specific square footage and system requirements of your Minnesota home, most crawlspace encapsulations take between 1 to 3 days to complete, and our process does not require you or your family to temporarily vacate the house.

General Questions

Frequently asked questions that apply across all services

How do I know if I need waterproofing or a drain tile system

Common signs include: standing water, damp walls, musty smell, and visible cracks. Even if you don’t see water moisture will cause damage over time. We can assess and determine the best solution.

How long will it take to waterproof my basement?

Most projects can be completed in just a few days depending on the size and scope of work, but we would give a timeline before starting the project.

Could my eavestrough be causing water leakage in my basement?

It’s possible that eavestrough that is not directed away from the home is contributing to a leak. The grade of your lawn may also be an issue. Ideally your grade should be roughly 6 inches over 10 feet. We’ll assess this for you during a site visit.
